Terms of Service

User Terms:

  1. Fatabásar.is provides its customers with facilities to sell used clothing and small items in exchange for renting a booth. The renter is responsible for ensuring that goods are legal, clean, and in appropriate condition for sale.

  2. The renter bears full responsibility for their goods in the booth and guarantees that the goods comply with Icelandic laws and regulations. Fatabásar.is takes no responsibility for damage, loss, misplacement, or theft that may occur.

  3. Fatabásar.is does not participate in the contractual relationship between renter and buyer. The seller is solely responsible for information about the product, price, quality, and other factors. Buyers are responsible for examining goods carefully before purchase takes place.

  4. Fatabásar.is guarantees neither the legitimacy nor condition of goods sold. The company bears no responsibility for potential damage, injury, or other consequences that may result from goods sold in booths.

  5. Sale of illegal goods, counterfeit goods, dangerous goods, weapons, drugs, or other goods prohibited under Icelandic law is strictly forbidden. Fatabásar.is reserves the right to remove such goods immediately and close booths without refund.

  6. If you decide to cancel your booth, you can receive a refund if you do so within 14 days of booking.
    To exercise this right to a refund, you must either come to our store or send an email to fatabasar@fatabasar.is
    .

    If you cancel with less than 14 days’ notice before the first day of the rental period, no refund can be given.

    If no products have arrived at the store by 2:00 PM on the first day of the booth rental and the renter has not made contact, Fatabasar reserves the right to re-rent the booth.

  7. After a booth has been booked, it can be set up one hour before closing on the day before the rental period begins, i.e. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 6:00 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday at 4:00 p.m.

    When you are logged into “My Booth”, you can create price tags for the items you intend to sell. We strongly recommend attaching the tags to the clothing labels (or similar) rather than sticking them directly onto the garments.

    If no products have been set up in the booth by the first day of the rental period, Fatabásar (the company) reserves the right to rent the booth to someone else, unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

    If there are closure days during the rental period that the booth is booked for, those days are not counted toward the total number of rental days. The rental period always consists of the exact number of days selected when the booth is booked.

    It is not permitted to move booths or to install any additional fixtures other than those already provided. If products are displayed outside your own booth, they will be removed without warning.

    It is important that you personally ensure that all items are correctly labeled with Fatabásar barcodes and the prices you have assigned to each product.

  8. If the booth has not been emptied on time and no prior agreement has been made regarding this, Fatabásar Mjóddin will pack up the items and charge a handling fee of 5,000 ISK.

    You also have the option to purchase the booth clear-out service in advance, which costs 3,000 ISK when agreed upon beforehand.

    We can store the items for up to one week, but we charge 1,000 ISK per day for each day the items remain in our storage.
    After that period, the items become the property of Fatabásar Mjóddin.

    If the booth renter does not collect their items, these fees will be deducted from the sales profit before the remaining amount is paid out to the renter.

  9. Fatabásar.is reserves the right to deny renters or remove goods if terms are violated, or if suspicion arises of illegal or inappropriate activity.

  10. By booking a booth and using Fatabásar.is services, the renter accepts these terms in their entirety and guarantees to follow them in all respects.

Fatabásar.is bears no responsibility for indirect or consequential damage, loss of income, or other financial consequences that may occur due to sales or operations of renters in the booths.

 

Terms and Conditions of the Online Store

1. General Provisions
These terms and conditions apply to all transactions conducted through fatabasar.is. By confirming an order, the customer agrees to these terms. The seller is Fatabásar mjóddinni, and the customer is the individual registered as a party to the transaction.

2. Right of Return and Cancellations
Due to the nature of the products sold by Fatabásar (e.g. fashion clothing, accessories, limited-edition jewelry), no right of return, exchange, or refund is offered if the customer changes their mind, selects the wrong size or color, or no longer wishes to keep the product.

All orders are final. The customer acknowledges that there is no right to return or receive a refund unless such a right is required by law.

3. Defective Products and Statutory Remedies
If a product is found to be defective or incorrect (in accordance with the Icelandic Consumer Sales Act), the customer must contact Fatabásar within a reasonable time so that the seller may offer repair, replacement, or other remedies required by law.
Only if repair or replacement is not possible may the customer be entitled to a price reduction or cancellation with a refund, in accordance with applicable law.

The seller does not offer any additional refunds or voluntary remedies beyond those required by law.

4. Delivery
Fatabásar delivers products using domestic shipping carriers. The seller is not responsible for delays or damage that occur after the product has been handed over to the carrier. The customer is responsible for providing accurate delivery information.

5. Payment
Payment is made using the payment methods displayed on the website (cards, bank transfer, Netgíró). All orders must be paid in full prior to delivery.

6. Data Protection
Customer information is processed in accordance with the privacy policy of Venusverslun. The information is used solely for order processing and customer service unless the customer provides explicit consent for other use.

7. Jurisdiction and Disputes
If a dispute arises that cannot be resolved between the parties, it may be referred to the Icelandic Consumer Complaints Committee or the Icelandic courts. Icelandic law governs these terms and the transactions.

8. Amendments to Terms
Fatabásar reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. Amendments take effect upon publication on the website and apply to new transactions.

 

Terms: "The convenient way"

By choosing the Convenient way service package, the renter agrees to the following terms:

1. Delivery and quality of products timing
Products must be recieved by staff no later then 24 hours before rental period begins.

Cleanliness and condition: All products must be clean, odorless and well inspected.

Quality control: We reserve the right to refuse to hang products that have stains, holes or are otherwise unfit for sale.

2. Registration and photography
In order to maximize the chances of sales and ensure correct pricing, the renter must register their products through our system with the following information.

Product name: Must be clear and descriptive (e.g. "blue 66 north fleece sweater" and not just "sweater").

Size and price: The renter is responsible for ensuring that the sizes provided are correct according to the clothing labels. We recommend that pricing is realistic and reflects the condition and brand of the product. A fair price is the key to good sales and circulation!

Photo shooting: It is necessary for the renter to upload a photo of each product. This makes it easier for staff to match the correct price tag with the correct garment and ensures that the product appears on our website.

3. Collection and storage process
At the end of the rental period, staff will pack the remaining products into bags/boxes.

Storage: We store the packaged products free of charge for up to one week (7 days) from the end of the renatl period. The products must be collected within that time, otherwise we reserve the right to donate them to charity or charge a storage fee.

4. Right to reject or refund
We take pride in the quality of our booths and reserve the right to:

Refund the service fee and cancel the package if the clothes are deemed unsalable upon arrival.

Reject a booking for the service package if the set-up service is fully booked for the relevant period. In such cases, the tenant will be contacted well in advance.
